Minister Margaret Hodge MP is joined by RNID Director of New Technologies to discuss e-inclusion challenge

26 September 2006

At a breakfast meeting organised by the Institute for Public Policy Research at the Labour Party Conference in Manchester this morning, Margaret Hodge MP, Minister of State for Industry and the Regions, was joined by RNID Director of New Technologies Guido Gybels for a discussion on inclusion in the Information Society.

The Minister repeated her commitment to the cause of bridging the digital divide and highlighted the fact that the divide is not just an economic issue. Guido Gybels spoke again about the difficulties in engaging business and the need to have a joined up, rather than a fragmented approach to inclusion.

That theme of joined-up thinking and action highlighted again up some of the key messages of the eInclusion Charter.
